Row houses on hills steep enough to count as cardio, two minutes from Water Street.
Good for: Walkers, restaurant people, anyone who wants the harbour on their doorstep.
Fahad's take: Ask about parking before you fall in love. Street parking in a February storm is its own sport.
The Battery
Houses clinging to the base of Signal Hill, right at the mouth of the Narrows.
Good for: People who want a view nobody else has and are okay with a few stairs.
Fahad's take: Rarely listed and never boring. Wind is part of the deal, so check the windows.
Georgestown
Quiet, leafy streets just above downtown, with heritage homes and corner stores.
Good for: Families and couples who want a walkable area without the George Street noise.
Fahad's take: Older homes mean character and also old wiring. Budget for an inspection that goes deep.
East End
Bigger lots, established trees, and a short drive to the Signal Hill trails.
Good for: Growing families and people who want a yard and a proper driveway.
Fahad's take: Good schools nearby keep prices steady. Move fast when the right one comes up.
Kenmount Terrace
Newer builds, wide streets, and everyday shopping close by.
Good for: First-time buyers and newcomers who want modern, low-maintenance homes.
Fahad's take: Up on the hill, the fog and snow arrive first. Ask neighbours how the plowing is.
Mount Pearl
Its own city next door, with parks, rinks and a quieter pace.
Good for: Families who want more house for the money and an easy commute into town.
Fahad's take: Lower taxes than St. John’s are worth running the numbers on.
